Mark L. Parrish Funeral Director / Owner mark@caldwellparrish.com

Mark is originally from Algona and is a 2005 graduate of Bishop Garrigan High School. He received his Associate of Arts Degree from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids before graduating from the DMACC Mortuary Science Program in August of 2008. While in mortuary school, Mark worked as a student at Caldwell Parrish. Following college, he worked as funeral director at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. In March of 2014 Mark rejoined the staff at Caldwell Parrish to fulfill his life long dream of owning a funeral home with his brother.

Mark is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 12432, Rotary Club of DMAM, Urbandale Chamber of Commerce, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and Cremation Association of North America. Mark is also a Certified Crematory Operator by the National Funeral Directors Association and is licensed to write pre need funeral contracts. He enjoys exercising, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

John is a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines, Knights of Columbus Council 12422, Urbandale Chamber of Commerce, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and the Cremation Association of North America. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exercising, golfing, and is an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and New York Yankees fan.

Shannon grew up on a farm south of Ogden and is a 1996 graduate of Ogden Community High School.  After high school she attended Iowa State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Services in 2001.  Following college, she worked for the Iowa Department of Public Health for seven years before becoming a stay at home mom. 

Shannon joined the staff at Caldwell Parrish in the fall of 2016 and is currently studying for her degree in Mortuary Science from Des Moines Area Community College.  She is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  She and her husband, Doug, live in West Des Moines with their three daughters.  Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and cheering for the Iowa State Cyclones.

Kyle Dumermuth Funeral Director kyle@caldwellparrish.com

Kyle grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa where he graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in 2006.  After high school, he attended Hawkeye Community College, where he received his Police Science AAS Degree.  Kyle then went on to Des Moines Area Community College, where he received his Mortuary Science AAS Degree.  He performed his internship with the Iowa Donor Network along with Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home -McCalley Chapel.  Kyle continued on with the Iowa Donor Network until returning to Caldwell Parrish to take over the Prep Room Manager position in 2018.

Kyle is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines, Gnemeth Masonic Lodge, Za-Ga-Zig Shriners, Iowa Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.  Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, who is also a Funeral Director with the Iowa Donor Network, his three dogs, his family and friends, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and building/fixing many different things with his hands.

Jim Raddatz Retired Funeral Director

James D. Raddatz, better known as Jim, has been a licensed funeral director since graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mortuary Science. He holds a license in both Iowa and Minnesota, and belongs to state and national associations for funeral directors and cremation providers. He has years of experience working in funeral homes in Rochester, Minnesota; Breckenridge, Minnesota; and Des Moines. He is originally from southern Minnesota, moving to Des Moines in 1978 and buying his own business in 1987.

Jim has a license to write preened funeral insurance and also designs monuments and gravestones for the families he serves. He designed the current funeral home building in 1995 and had it built to best meet the needs of families. Jim enjoys a network with Central Iowa funeral directors and provides many services for them when needed. He is pleased that his daughter, Gretchen, has followed in his footsteps to be a funeral director in Minnesota, and daughter, Ingrid continues to help him here.

As active director, he has limited spare time, but loves to watch his Minnesota teams on TV and also follows basketball and football for Drake, Iowa State and Iowa University. He is a member of the Masons and the Scottish and York Rites, Grace United Methodist Church, the Des Moines Civic Center and an active supporter of The Salvation Army. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve Program after college. He feels strongly that a life should be honored and remembered, and he is pleased to help people make a plan for memorializing in a way that is special, unique and comforting.

Tiffani grew up in Altoona, Iowa and graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 2013. After high school she attended the University of Iowa and received her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with an additional certificate in Writing from the Iowa Writer’s Workshop in 2017. Following college, she began working for Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home where she utilizes her compassionate personality to build relationships and help families during their time of need.

 

Tiffani lives in West Des Moines and enjoys being outdoors as often as possible. She loves going out and riding side by sides and four-wheelers with her husband Ryan, where they search for the next adrenaline rush they can ride through. As well as camping and traveling to their favorite waterfront locations. She also values her family and friends, and enjoys the times where everyone can relax and spend time together.

Ryan grew up in Clarion and graduated in 2008 from Clarion Goldfield High School. Following high school Ryan attended DMACC in Ankeny where he received his associate degree in (field of study) and then enrolled in their Mortuary science program. Ryan graduated in 2011 and began his internship at Andrews Funeral Home in Belmond. After working for several years there he pursued his career as a funeral director with Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion. Ryan joined Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in 2017 and is based out of the McCalley Chapel in Adel.


Ryan enjoys being part of the community and helping others. He is a member of the Adel Rotary Club and is a Shriner and Mason. Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Luke was born and raised in Carroll, Iowa and graduated from Carroll High School. He continued his education at Iowa State University where he received a Bachelors in Biology with a Minor in Psychology. He then attended DMACC in Ankeny to obtain his Mortuary Science Degree. Luke began his career working at Ohde Funeral Homes in Manning, Iowa.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys walking his husky dog, Sasha, working out, reading fiction novels and socializing with family and friends. Luke is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll, the IFDA (Iowa Funeral Directors Association) and the NFDA (National Funeral Directors Association).

Tom is a native of Winterset and a graduate of Winterset High School.  He attended the University of Iowa, Drake University and graduated with a Mortuary Science degree from Miami-Dade Community College in Miami, FL. He began his practice with his father, Rival W. Collins, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.  He has since kept with the business practice for over 40 years.

Tom and his wife, Terri, have three daughters, and two granddaughters.  His family keeps him busy, but he finds time to go jogging and play pool with his friends.  As a member of the Winterset Lion’s Club, he participates as a “specialty crew member” for their annual variety show.  He is also a Board Trustee for the Madison County Memorial Hospital.

Mary Beth has been with the funeral home since 2013. She and her husband live in rural Lorimor, Iowa and have raised a son and daughter. Mary Beth started working at the funeral home shortly after her mother-in-law passed away. She was impressed with how her mother-in-law looked and the comfort the service provided. She realized the importance of having that closure. By working visitations and funerals, she is hopeful she is able to provide some comfort to families. In her free time, Tina enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Darcey started working at Ochiltree Funeral Service in 2007. She first realized the importance of funeral care after the death of her mother in 2000. Lynn helped her to understand the importance of seeing her mother and how peaceful she could look. The experience was more meaningful than she ever expected. Darcey enjoys helping others and finds working at the funeral home very rewarding. Her husband built their home in Winterset in 1977, and they have remained there, raising three sons. Darcey enjoys walking her dog, reading and travelling. She is a member of First Christian Church in Winterset.

Gary grew up in Winterset, Iowa. He and his wife, Pat enjoy serving others and have raised fifteen adopted children. After 30 years in South Carolina, with encouragement from his wife, they moved back to the Winterset area. Gary recently retired as a physician and is now enjoying his free time spending time with family, playing cards, and is an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Gus has worked with the funeral home for over 16 years. He and his wife, Erlene have lived in Winterset since 1958. They raised three daughters in the Winterset community and are blessed to have grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gus is an Iowa State University graduate and has worked in Ag business for many years. He is a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoys spending time fishing, golfing and helping out at the funeral home.
