Windsor Lee Wenz passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 5, 2026. He was 88 years old. He was the son of Otto Wenz and Dora Schneider Wenz. He was born on March 17, 1938, at the family farm in Blair, NE. He attended Blair High School and graduated in 1955.

After high school, Windsor was employed by Peavey Grain Company in Omaha. Later, he was transferred to Kearney, NE, as assistant manager of the grain elevator located there. He met and married Patti Pommer, the love of his life, on October 12, 1968.

They lived in Kearney for a few years and then transferred to Iowa, first to Algona and then Garner, where he managed grain elevators for Conagra and was a corn commodities broker. He retired from his employment with Conagra, and he and Patti moved to Perry, Iowa.

Windsor’s faith was the most important thing in his life. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 19, 1950, and for the next 76 years, he was active in sharing his faith and hope with others. He and Patti loved people, and they were a source of joy to everyone they would meet.

They actively supported the construction of Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Iowa area. Windsor attended ministerial training schools that helped him be better equipped to share his faith and support the congregation.

Windsor and Patti loved to travel and attended many assemblies and conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses, some internationally. They enjoyed traveling with their many friends and had lots of stories to tell. They enjoyed entertaining and spending time with friends and family.

He liked to give speeches at our family reunions and entertained us with his own brand of humor.

During his long illness, he came to love and appreciate those who cared for him through the difficult times so he could continue to live at his home. They loved his warmth and his smile.

He was beloved by all and will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Dora Wenz of Blair, NE; his wife, Patti; his brothers, Daniel Wenz of Blair, NE, Roger Wenz of Blair, NE, and Otto Wenz Jr. of Cassville, MO.

He is survived by his sisters, Wilma Stepanek of Blair, NE, Delores Andersen of Omaha, NE; his brother, Richard Wenz and his wife, Diana, of Neosho, MO; as well as nine nephews and three nieces.
