William Nis 'Bill' Christensen

William Christensen, 69, died Monday, February 27, 2017 at his residence in Ankeny, Iowa. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Terry Kerr officiating. Military honors will be given during the interment of his cremains in the Winterset Cemetery. Bill was born on March 11, 1947, at Winterset, Iowa to Carl and Lucille (Dick) Christensen. He grew up in Winterset and was a 1965 graduate of Winterset High School. He retired after 30 years of being a warehouse supervisor for 3M at Knoxville, Iowa. Bill liked being outdoors and enjoyed golfing, softball and bowling. He also enjoyed watching old western movies. Bill also served proudly in the US Navy for four years during the Vietnam era. Bill is survived by his son, Chad Christensen; and siblings, Vernon (Carolin) Christensen, Clair Edward Christensen, Cheryl (Steve) Keiser, Ronald (Jeanie) Christensen, Linda Christensen, and Carl Christensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lucille (Dick) Christensen. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
