William Peter Clausen (Bill), age 71, of Bouton, Iowa, passed away on January 18, 2026, after a brief illness.

Bill was born on August 4, 1954, in Perry, Iowa, to Pete and Gertrude Clausen.

He attended Bouton schools through fourth grade and later graduated from Woodward-Granger High School.

Bill worked at Oscar Mayer for 16 years and then for the Perry Community School District for 26 years.

Family was important to Bill. He married Carol on June 26, 2015, and together they had five children and six grandchildren.

Bill enjoyed all kinds of sports. He was a devoted Iowa State and Major League Baseball fan. He especially loved watching and cheering on his grandchildren in their sports and activities.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Jason (Ellie and Eli) and Ryan (Kolton); and three stepchildren, Michelle and Anthony (Dewayne), Lucas and Erin (Maxwell), and Casey and Nathan (Quinn).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Gertrude Clausen.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Perry, followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for a future designation in Bill’s name. Online condolences may be shared at www.caldwellparrish.com.
