Victor A. Postel

Victor A. Postel, 73, of Berwick, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

Victor was born on April 6, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Robert and Joyce (Bintz) Postel. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids in 1970 and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. On August 15, 1981, Victor was united in marriage to Kelly Peterson in Gowrie, Iowa.

He worked as a pipefitter for Firestone Tire and was a proud member of the Steel Workers Union Local 310. Victor enjoyed attending auctions, tending to his garden, and most of all, spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly; his children, Dathan (Stephanie) Postel of Adel and Jenna (Chris) Youngkin of Kirkman; sisters, Carmen Ohrt, Cheryl Staton, and Vera Ruchotzke; half-siblings, Greg Postel and Lisa Postel; stepmother, Donna Postel; and grandchildren, Zachary Postel, Mackenzie Postel, Chloe Postel, Jaeda Youngkin, and Caila Youngkin.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert “Jim” Postel; and an infant brother.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the River Valley Golf Course Clubhouse (22927 Valley View Trail, Adel).
