Vera Irene Duff

Vera Irene Duff (82) of Adel, passed away on January 19, 2017 surrounded by family. Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2017 at McCalley Funeral Home starting at 4:00 p.m. with a short service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at later date at Morrisburg Cemetery. Vera was born February 22, 1934 in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Babe and Cleo Millsap. Upon graduating Hamilton College of Business, Vera worked for G.W. Onthank and Co. Vera spent the following years working for the Dallas County Clerk of Court until her retirement in 1998. Vera enjoyed traveling, being a Red Hats member, being a mother and grandmother, and spending winters in Arizona. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Babe Millsap; sister, Ula; brother, Buster; daughter, Cindy Gruver; and son, Billy Duff. Vera is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard; daughter, Sandra (John) Lockhart; son, Derrick (Stephanie) Duff; son-in-law, Dave Gruver; grandchildren, Cody (Jess), Dillion, Jake, Kate, Kaylee, and William; and one great grandchild, Piper.
