Des Moines, IA - Vance L. Abbott (75), passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Harmony Care Center in West Des Moines, IA. He was born August 26, 1950 in Des Moines, IA, to his parents, Willard Abbott and Elizabeth (Beachum) Abbott.
Vance was a retired freelance F&I manager for various car dealerships throughout Iowa. In his free time, he liked to fish and spend time on boats. Vance especially loved deep sea fishing in the Gulf Shores of Louisiana and Florida.
Vance is survived by his son, Corey Abbott, twin sister Valerie, grandchildren Ricky Dean (Jessica), Nicolas Dean (Aarica) and twin grandchildren, Julia Hinkle (Jayle) & Jacob Dean, Abigail, Crystal, Harley, And Maxwell Abbott, and Dusten Abbott, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, along with his life partner Leisa Scalise.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Kay Dean and his brother, Von Abbott.
No services are planned currently. Interment will take place at Glendale Masonic Cemetery at a later date.
