Troy F. Cordero, age 58, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on December 27, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, following an extended illness.
Troy was born on March 8, 1967, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Albert and Rose Ida (Ortega) Cordero. He attended Westland Christian Academy.
On August 7, 1987, Troy was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sheila Thompson, in Golden, Colorado. Together they built a life centered on love, loyalty, and family.
Troy dedicated 35 years of his career to the construction industry, earning a reputation as a hardworking and dependable tradesman. During the final year of his working life, he served as a bus driver for Waukee Schools, a role he took pride in as he continued serving his community.
Outside of work, Troy greatly enjoyed fishing and camping, with his favorite destination being Grand Lake in Granby, Colorado. He was known as a skilled and enthusiastic poker player and was a devoted Denver Broncos fan. Above all else, Troy was deeply family-oriented. He loved his family fiercely, especially his grandchildren, and made every effort to attend their activities and milestones.
Troy is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila Cordero; his children, Anthony (Kaitlyn) Cordero, Josh (Faith) Cordero, A.J. (Kaylee) Cordero, and T.J. Cordero; his grandchildren, JJ, Aaylor, Winter, Raydyn, Skylynn, Haylo, Jaxson, Jamison, and Ember; his sister, Linda White; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Rose Ida Cordero; his son, Phillip Cordero; his brothers, James and Albert Cordero; and his beloved dog, Bella.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held in July in Colorado, with details to be announced at a later date.
