Trevor J. Schwager

Trevor Joseph Schwager, 18, passed away in a car accident on Monday, December 4, 2017. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 10 in the St. Joseph Chapel at Dowling Catholic High School with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 11 at the Dowling Catholic High School gymnasium. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. Trevor was born on October 5, 1999 in Ames, Iowa to Marty and Jolea Schwager. He went to grade school at St. Theresa Catholic School and was currently a senior at Dowling Catholic High School. Trevor was known for his high energy, positive spirit and leadership. He was a member of the DCHS Wrestling Team and wrestled varsity at 160 lbs. Trevor loved the outdoors specifically hunting and fishing. He was involved with FFA and 4H. Trevor is survived by his parents, Marty and Jolea; brothers, Zachary and Keaton; grandmother, Rosemary Schwager; grandfather, Joe Walles; aunts and uncles, Barb (Gary) Miller, Ruth (Jim) Lewis, Cindy Schwager, Joe (Rosie) Schwager, Lorin (Deb) Schwager, Chuck (Kathy) Schwager, Tim (Sheryl) Schwager, Susie (Jonathan) Poulton, Steve (Julie) Schwager, Mick (Tricia) Schwager, Tad Walles; uncle and godfather, David (Heather) Walles; godmother, Meghan Schultz; close family friend, “Uncle” Harold Hommes and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carolee Walles; grandfather, Vincent Schwager; and uncles, Tom Schwager and Paul Schwager Memorial contributions may be given to the family in Trevor’s name for a memorial to be decided at a later date.
