Teresa King

Teresa King, 62, of Winterset, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Teresa was born on February 1, 1964, in Torrance, California, the daughter of Leo and Sharon (Spidle) King. She graduated from Winterset High School with the Class of 1982.

She enjoyed spending time with her cat, family gatherings, reading, crafts, attending girls’ night with her friends, and keeping in touch with her former foreign exchange students, Yog and Katrin.

She is survived by her father, Leo King (Barb Brady) of Winterset; her daughters, Mallory Bell (Tommy) of St. Charles and Emily Sutherland (Tyler) of Winterset; her brothers, Darin King (Julie) of Urbandale and Mark King (Tina) of Lee's Summit, Missouri; her sister, Leslie Payne of Winterset, Tonja (Dana) Knutson of Lake Mills; and her grandchildren, Tessa and Brody Sutherland, Anna and Carli Johnson, and Natalye and Nik Bell; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon King; and nephews, Jordan and Ben Payne.

A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Private burial will be held at the Winterset Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.
