Sylvia Ann Burke

Sylvia Ann Burke, 71, of Urbandale passed away on March 3, 2017. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale. Sylvia Ann (Christensen) Burke was born April 9, 1945 in Clinton, IA to Clarence & Virginia Christensen. She was a graduate of DeWitt High School. She went on to Wartburg College where she received her degree in Social Work in 1967. She married Robert Burke on January 29, 1967. She is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Angela (Erik) Torgerson, Mark (Jennifer) Burke, Lindsey (Jon) McAndrew; grandchildren, Sophie, Ava, Carter, Cooper, Finley, Murphy, and Osborn. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Jayne and Gloria.
