Stacy Marie Phasavath

Stacy Marie Phasavath, 53, of Des Moines, IA passed away on September 11, 2026. Stacy was born on December 14, 1972 to James and Debra Kunkel.

Stacy was a beloved mother of 3 young men. She didn't live what anyone would call an easy life, but through it all she found the strength time and time again to keep going and providing for her sons. Stacy never turned a blind eye to anyone in need. She always tried her best, providing meals and a safe place for her sons and friends to stay when she could.

Stacy always marched to the beat of her own drum. She was undoubtedly her true and authentic self. If you were ever around her, you'd frequently hear the phrase "show stopper". As life changed, she stayed true to herself. In her later years Stacy found joy in many things. She enjoyed binge watching anime and spending nights with her cat midnight the most. Stacy has touched many lives over the years and will not be forgotten. She is greatly loved and will be missed.

Stacy is survived by her 3 sons, Justin Kunkel, Mitchell Kunkel, and Rio Phasavath; and her significant other, Chris Scantlin.
