Scott Cadwell, 92, of Earlham, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at his home.
Alfred Scott Cadwell was born at home in Adel, Iowa on April 2, 1932, to Clarence Jay and Cecile Winifred (Stump) Cadwell. He graduated from Adel High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army. He was a lifetime resident of Adel up until the final year of his life. He was united in marriage to Lucille Garnett on May 25, 1957 in Scranton, Iowa and was blessed with two daughters, Kathy and Linda.
Scott worked for the Department of Transportation for 36 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a longtime member of the Des Moines Rifle and Revolver Club and an avid gun enthusiast and collector. He was a master marksman. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling and vacationing with family and friends. He attended church up until his health prevented it.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Garnett Cadwell; daughters, Kathy (Mike) Land of Missouri and Linda (Steve) Michal of Earlham; 6 grandchildren, Mary Land, Rebecca Land, Sarah Land, Brock (Tina) Michal, Ben Michal, and Daniel (Clara) Michal; and 2 great grandchildren, Sutton Michal and Sage Michal.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Winifred Stump Cadwell; and a brother, Harold Cadwell.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, September 6, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Adel Chapel. Family will be present to receive friends one hour prior, beginning at 1 PM. Burial will follow in the Stump Thornton Barto Cemetery, Dallas County. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
