Scott Allen Halling, 60, of Perry, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Scott's visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on October 19, 2024, with his memorial service beginning at 11:30 a.m. all at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. Inurnment will follow in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.
Born in Perry, Iowa, on February 20, 1964, Scott was the son of Gene and Beverly (Wichael) Halling. He graduated from Central Dallas High School in Minburn, Iowa with the Class of 1982. Following graduation, Scott went on to earn an associate’s degree from Iowa Lakes College in 1984.
On April 7, 1990, Scott married the love of his life, Jody Fouch at the Perry First United Presbyterian Church. Together, they raised three boys: Cody, Levi, and Wyatt. Scott was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and watching his boys play in all their school activities and his grandkids always put a smile on his face.
Scott was deeply involved in his community as a longtime member of Perry Elk's #409. He also served on the Little League board and as president of the Perry High School Booster Club during his children's years in junior high and high school. Scott was a dedicated farmer, cultivating soybeans, corn, and holding a special passion for hay farming. His hobbies included collecting international toy tractors, but above all, his greatest love and joy was his family, whom he cherished deeply.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jody Halling of Perry, Iowa; three sons: Cody (Dusty) Halling of Kanawha, Iowa, Levi (Kristin) Halling of Perry, Iowa, and Wyatt (Alyssa Dooley) of Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren: Harlyn, River, and Swae Halling; two brothers: Barry (Eileen “Pooch”) Halling of Perry, Iowa and Brent (Brenda) Halling of Perry, Iowa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug (Jody) Fouch of Grand Junction, Iowa and Kevin (Shelly) Fouch of Grand Junction, Iowa; five nephews: William “Bill” (Amity) Halling of Panora, Iowa, Matt (Becky) Halling of Perry, Iowa, Dustin (Megan) Fouch of Jefferson, Iowa, Zack Fouch of Des Moines, Iowa, and Dylan Fouch of Grand Junction, Iowa; two nieces, Jessica Halling of Las Vegas, Nevada and Heidi Bell of Urbandale, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
