Sandra Sue Pettry

Sandra Sue Pettry, 60 years young, of Perry, Iowa, passed peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and the grace of the Lord she walked beside throughout her life.

Sandra was the beloved daughter of Arnold and Wanda Pettry and a cherished sister to Brenda, Sara, Joella, Sherry, and Wanda. Sandra was a devoted mother to her children, John Widen, Robert Widen, Michael Widen, and Joella Lavagnino, whom she held close to her heart.

Sandra lived a life rooted in selflessness, compassion, and unconditional love. She had a beautiful way of making everyone around her feel cared for and valued. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and giving nature touched many lives. She found joy in writing and crocheting, often pouring her love into handmade gifts for the people she treasured most. Whether through a blanket, heartfelt words, or quiet acts of kindness, Sandra expressed love in ways that will never be forgotten.

Sandy was a comfort to those who knew her. She carried herself with kindness and a deep love for her family and friends. She especially treasured time spent with her 11 grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Sandra will be remembered for her nurturing soul, her creative spirit, and the endless love she gave so freely. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the home of her son, John Widen, located at 14299 130th Street, Dawson, IA 50066.
