Rosie Castellano, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on November 1, 2026.
Rosie was born on January 9, 1933, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Roberto and Juanita Renteria.
On May 24, 1953, Rosie married the love of her life, Moses Castellano, in Reno, Nevada. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Music and dancing brought Rosie great happiness. She especially loved spending Saturday nights dancing to Mexican music with her husband, Moses. Above all, Rosie treasured the time she spent with her family and the memories they created together.
Rosie was a loving and caring woman who enjoyed traveling to Mexico, working in her yard, and tending to her beautiful flowers. She loved playing bingo, going to the casino, and spending time with friends over coffee at her home or theirs. Rosie also enjoyed doing word search puzzles, and cooking her family famous homemade meatballs and pasta sauce "Pasta China", tortillas, and pumpkin bread, along with many other staples. She often shared stories about her childhood and the memories she made growing up on the farm.
She was a stay-at-home mom who volunteered at the hospital where she helped Spanish speaking families. Later in life she was a beloved housekeeper and took great pride in caring for the homes and families she worked for.
Those left to cherish Rosie's memory include her children, Theresa (Marty) Vasquez, Moses Castellano, Tony (Marji) Castellano, and Tina (Pedro) Castro; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Moses Castellano; her sons, Louis Castellano and David Castellano; her parents, Roberto and Juanita Renteria; seven siblings; her mother-in-law and her father-in-law; and her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
