Rose Ilene Menz

Rose Ilene Dorman Menz, 92, of Perry, Iowa passed away on March 1, 2025, at Perry, Iowa. A celebration of life visitation will be held Saturday, March 15th, 2025 at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., luncheon at the Elks Lodge #407 in Perry and private family burial at the Fairview Cemetery. Rose was born on December 9, 1932, in Rippey, Iowa, to Grant and Irene (Johnson) Dorman. She grew up on a farm north of Perry and attended Douglas Country School, and graduating from Perry High School, class of 1951. On September 13, 1953, she married Marvin W. Menz in Perry, Iowa where she lived her entire life.

In her younger years, Rose worked at the telephone office and local bank, she also helped Marvin with their construction business and rental properties. Rose enjoyed traveling, painting, gardening, watching birds, and spending time with family and friends. She was also a member of the Garden Club with her sister-in-law Lila Menz. 

Preceded in death by her parents Grant and Irene Dorman; her husband Marvin Menz; son Marshall Menz; grandson Joseph Geer; brothers Gene Dorman and Chuck Dorman.

Rose is survived by her children and families: Christine Geer(Charlie) of Rochester, Minnesota, their children Kevin(Amanda); Ben(Betsy) Gabrielle, Esther and Chloe; Brian Geer. Doug Menz(Barb) of Perry, their children Andrea Tunink(Cory), Peyton, Maci and Aiden; Jeff Menz(Janelle) Anthony and Anna; Cherie Welch(Shaun) Brady and Harper. Connie Stalzer(Steve) of Perry, their children Heath and Dana. Daughter-in-law Janel Menz and her son Chad, Alannah and Eloise. Sister-in-laws, Charlene Dorman and Carol Dorman.
