Ronald was born on May 1, 1964, in Des Moines, IA, to Jim and Nellie (Dymond) Cochran. He and his three brothers were raised in Dallas County on the family farm, where they kept busy working chores, raising beef cattle, hogs, and crops, chopping silage, and mowing cemeteries. While growing up, Ronald didn't have time for sports, but he loved sports cars, motorcycles, and cats.

Throughout his life, Ronald drove semi-trucks to the West Coast and back, and worked for Peterson Construction, JMT Construction, and Voss Concrete. Ronald was also a skilled laser operator and a self-taught repairer of pocket watches and old cuckoo clocks. He was well known for crafting humorous stories and was beloved as the "fun uncle" by his nieces and nephews. Ronald was a true "cat daddy" with a huge heart for taking in all cats in need. He will be truly missed.

Ronald is survived by his long-term companion, Eve Harris of Redfield; three brothers: David (Aleta) Cochran of Adel, Dennis (Ann) Cochran of Adel, and Steve (Denise) Cochran of Adel; nine nieces and nephews: Chris, Randy, Amy, Jason, Joel, Debra, Laura, Emily, and Josh; as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Nellie Cochran.
