Roger Hubbard, 73, of Peru, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Roger was born January 2, 1953, to Harry and Irene (Wiley) Hubbard. He graduated from Central High School in Elkader, Iowa, in 1971. Following high school, Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. During his military career, he served in the Vietnam War, Gulf War, and Desert Storm.
On February 18, 1984, Roger was united in marriage to Trish Townsend in Clear Lake, Iowa. Roger spent many years as an auto parts manager at O’Reilly Auto Parts before retiring. He was also a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Roger is survived by his wife, Trish Hubbard; his children, Katie (Christian) Dekker, Jeni (Justin) Porter, Mike Gilbert, and Nikki (Monte) Bloms; brother, David Hubbard; sister, Cheryl Scheffert; his grandchildren, Maddison, Jake, Luke, Lincoln, Lucy, Peyton, Aubrey, Ethan, Evanna, Breccan, Brooklyn, Addison, Brynlee, and Rhett; and his great-granddaughter, Mila.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Irene Hubbard; his son, Michael Hubbard; his brother, Ron Hubbard; and his grandson, Zane Witt.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.
