Ricky (Rick) Lee Chapman, age 71, passed away on October 24, 2026, in Black Mountain, North Carolina. He was born on July 17, 1955, in Dexter, Iowa, to Marjorie (Wright) and Eugene Chapman. He grew up in Iowa and attended school in Adel. Throughout his life, Rick also called California home and had made North Carolina his home for many years, where he was living at the time of his passing.
Rick was one of four brothers. He is survived by his older brother, Kim Chapman, and Kim's wife, Kathy (Case), of Adel, Iowa; and his younger brother, Steve Chapman, and Steve's wife, Angie (Wilson), of Boynton Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Eugene Chapman; his brother, Kirk Chapman; and his niece, Angela (Chapman) Saunders.
Rick is survived by his four children: Crystal Silver of Windsor Heights, Iowa; Katrina Chapman and Tania Chapman, both of San Diego, California; and Toby Slycord of Nashville, Tennessee. He also leaves behind three grandchildren.
Rick enjoyed spending time playing games on Pogo, watching NASCAR races, and keeping up with WWE wrestling. He also loved football and was a big Iowa Hawkeye Fan. He had a particular fondness for a good cheeseburger. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or enjoying a good cheeseburger, Rick appreciated life's simple pleasures.
Though life took him down many different paths, Rick will always remain a part of the Chapman family story and the memories shared by those who knew him.
