Rickey Lee Carr Sr.

Rickey Lee Carr Sr., age 75, of Perry, Iowa, sadly passed away on March 21, 2025 at his home. Rick was born on October 28, 1949, to Leo and Fern LaVonne (nee Harris) Carr.

Rick’s passions were fishing, mushroom hunting, deer hunting, and hotrods. He worked most of his life fixing or painting cars. Rick also did wood carvings from walking sticks to large eagle statues.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Michelle) Carr and Keith (Cheryl) Carr; daughter, Alyssa Carr; daughter-in-law, Julie Carr; grandchildren, Aaron, Zake, Zeke, Kylie, Marty, Ryan, Kendra and Kacie,; and multiple great-grandchildren.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Fern (Lavonne) Carr; son, Rickey Carr Jr.; and sisters, Connie Carr and Judy Carr.

To everyone Rick loved and touched over the many years of living in the Perry or surrounding areas, we invite you to join us in celebrating Rick’s life, on July 26, 2025 at Sportsman’s Park from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. In lieu of traditional mourning, we request the joy of your company in casual attire to come together to tell stories about how Rick made you smile or how he has touched your life.
