Richard Allen Nielsen, 83 of Waukee, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Legacy Pointe in Waukee. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel in Adel with burial at East Linn Cemetery near Redfield. Family will greet friends Friday, January 24th at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Richard and Bonnie, his wife of nearly 58 years owned Bonnie’s Flowers & Gifts in Adel for 37 years. Richard is survived by his sons, Ricky (Belle) Nielsen and Nicky (Lori) Nielsen; daughter, Nancy Nielsen; grandchildren, Natalie (Levi) Clark, Brianne (Ethan) Jackson, Allison (Casey) Maher, Bailey (Wyatt) Henkenius, and Maggie (Branden) Moreau; great grandchildren, Leon and Kinnick Maher, and Madison Clark; and siblings: brother, Earl (Claudia) Nielsen and sister, Elsie Tiggemann. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bonnie Nielsen; his parents, Harry and Clara Nielsen; brother, Clarence Nielsen, and sister, Delores Norton.
