Rhonda Ray Ross

Rhonda Ray Ross, age 59, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

Rhonda was born in Seymour, Indiana, on August 24, 1966, to Forrest Wayne Ray and Opal Marie Hurd Ray. When Rhonda was five months old, her parents moved to Port Pierce, Florida. She grew up there and attended school.

As a young teenager, she began working at different places of employment. She became a Judicial Assistant in her twenties, working for several attorneys. Most recently, she was a Document Specialist for more than 20 years.

Rhonda leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Arthur Ross; two sons, Shane Sanders and Joshua Ross; her mother, Opal Baker; stepdad, Clint Baker; brother, Steven Ray; a nephew, Tyler Ray; a niece, Kelly Boyle; grandchildren, Samantha Sanders and Mia Sanders; three step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild; sister- and brother-in-law, Leah and Jeff Recker; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her father, Forrest Wayne Ray; stepmother, Debbie Ray; stepbrother, Jared Ray; in-laws Arthur and Pam Ross; grandparents, Harley and Belle Hurd and Forrest and Maysel Ray; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2026, at Caldwell Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa.
