Rebecca Jean Miller

Rebecca Jean Miller, 72, of Perry, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at her home.

Rebecca was born on June 16, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the only daughter and one of four children born to Clifford and Caroline Sisler. She attended Lincoln Senior High School, graduating in 1972. She went on to pursue cosmetology training, earning her license in 1973 and beginning her career as a beautician.

In 1979, Rebecca married Richard Dean Miller. She was the proud mother of two sons, Chad and Dave. She later continued her education at North Dakota State, earning an Associate of Science degree in 1984. Rebecca eventually moved to Iowa for a new career opportunity at Woodward State Hospital, where she worked as an occupational therapist until her retirement.

Throughout her life, Rebecca enjoyed a wide range of interests. She found pleasure in gardening, listening to all kinds of music, and going to the movies. She also loved animals, spending time fostering them and enjoying the companionship of her beloved dog, Buddy.

Above all, Rebecca cherished time spent with her family, especially her sons and four grandsons. She will be remembered for the life she built through work, family, and the interests she enjoyed throughout the years.

Rebecca is survived by her two sons, Chad (Wendy) Miller of Grimes, Iowa, and Dave Miller of Saylorville Township, Iowa; four grandsons, Christopher, Caleb, and Cameron of Grimes, and Jory of Ankeny, Iowa; two brothers, Tim (Debby) Sisler of Brainerd, Minnesota and Dave Sisler from Thief River Falls, Minnesota; and other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Caroline Sisler; and her brother, Mark Sisler.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home - Perry Chapel, 1721 Park Street, Perry, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Raccoon River Pet Rescue in Perry in Rebecca's memory.
