Randy Lee Lenze

Randy Lee Lenze, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.Randy was born on March 24, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles "Melvin" Lenze and Mildred Lenze (Kimbro). He had a big heart and an even bigger appetite for life. Whether he was out on the water fishing, firing up the stove to cook for a crowd, or simply enjoying the open road from behind the wheel of his truck, Randy was happiest when he was living simply and freely.

He is survived by his sons, Randall (Danielle) Lenze and Brian (Nichole) Wheelington; grandchildren Hailey (Cael) Lenze, Josh Janousek, Jude Lenze, Olivia Janousek, Austin Wheelington, and Ashton Wheelington; his mother, Mildred Kimbro; sister Sheila Lister; nieces Heather Lenze, Tina Gordon, and Stacie Lindsey; nephews Bobby Wingfield and Rob Lindsey; cousins Pat (Nicki) Bond and Teresa Nolan; as well as many other beloved family and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his son Brandon Lenze; sister Cindy Lenze-Wingfield; father Melvin Lenze; and his grandparents Charles “Bill” and Coral Lenze.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Panther Creek Cemetery in Adel, Iowa, followed by a luncheon at American Legion Post 261 in Redfield.
