Phrana Fisher, 86, of Waukee, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at her home, under the care of WesleyLife Hospice. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff for their compassionate and dedicated care.

Phrana was born on November 24, 1938, in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Edith Lecocq. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1957 and was united in marriage to Michael Fisher in 1972. For 26 years, Phrana dedicated her professional life as an interviewer to the Iowa Workforce Development Center. She also spent time as a hospice volunteer at the Madison County Memorial Hospital offering comfort and care to others.

Phrana enjoyed traveling, with memorable trips to Africa, Turkey, and Idaho. She and her husband, Michael, shared an interest in Civil War reenactments and spent many years together in Arkansas, where their home was a gathering place for friends and family. Phrana was often found surrounded by her kids, grandkids, and family, filling them with love and laughter.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Fisher; her children, Lori Lynn Mitchell (Richard Craig), Mark Fisher, and Michael Fisher; her grandchildren, Brad (Megan) Jackson and Amanda (Aaron) Clayton; along with several great-grandchildren. Phrana was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to WesleyLife Hospice and EveryStep Hospice.
