Paul Seward Soli

Paul Seward Soli, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and craftsman of life, was born on September 14, 1940, in Langdon, North Dakota. His journey came to a gentle close on June 3, 2025, in Adel, Iowa, but his remarkable spirit will continue through the lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind.

Paul dedicated 46 years to the world of construction, most notably as a Superintendent with Clearwater and Ramtech construction companies. With steady hands and determination, he helped shape not just buildings, but the communities around them. His career was marked by a deep work ethic, a quiet pride in doing things right, and the kind of integrity that defines a life well lived.

But Paul was far more than his work. He was a man of adventure, with a spirit as open as the roads he loved to ride. Retirement didn’t slow him down—it opened up more time for the things that brought him joy. Summers often found him heading to Sturgis on his Harley Davidson, where the open road met brotherhood and freedom. He also found peace in the stillness of nature—camping near lakes, casting his fishing line, and reveling in the simple joys of the outdoors.

At his core, Paul was a man of kindness and honesty. He welcomed everyone with warmth, made friends effortlessly, and lived by a quiet, unwavering authenticity. His laughter could fill a room and his presence brought comfort and strength to all who knew him. He never pretended to be anything but himself—genuine, steadfast, and full of heart.

Paul deeply valued family and tradition. He took pride in his Norwegian heritage and worked to keep its customs alive within his family. He loved gathering with those he cherished, often over a hot cup of coffee, where conversations flowed and memories were made.

He is survived by his children: Eric (Amy) Soli, Kimberly (Steve Kennedy) Wente, and Jennifer Wardyn, who will carry on his legacy with the same strength and love he showed them. His grandchildren—Steven, Ryan, Nathan, Adam, Joshua, Eliana, Gavin, Kirsten (Jack), and Brenna—were his greatest pride, each one a source of joy and light in his life. His great-grandchildren—Zaden, Zephyr, and Skadia—brought him renewed joy and a sense of enduring hope.

His sister, Wanda (Chuck) Eller, former wife and mother to his children, JoAnn Fife, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, will also hold him dear in their hearts, united by the stories and cherished moments shared over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Nellie Soli, and his brothers—Warren, Don, Dale, Eli, Roger, and Armand. Now reunited with them, his memory remains a guiding light to those he leaves behind.

In every nail driven, every lesson passed on, every hug given, and every life touched by his generosity and strength, Paul leaves a legacy that time cannot fade. He taught us that kindness is always the right choice, that adventure is never too far away, and that love—given freely and fully—is life’s greatest gift.
