Patricia Corkrean

Patricia Ann (McLaughlin) Corkrean passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. Patricia was born on February 4, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Alice (McCusker) McLaughlin. She grew up in Madison County and graduated from Winterset High School, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, John Corkrean.

Pat was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Progressive Study Club, Friends of the Winterset Public Library, and P.E.O. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, and playing bridge. Above all, Pat cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Susan Case of Denver, Colorado, and Maureen Eveler of St. Louis, Missouri; her son, John Corkrean Jr. (Gretchen) of Woodbury, Minnesota; her sister, Jane (Jim) Weist; her brother, Michael McLaughlin; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Nancy) Corkrean, Larry (Debby) Corkrean, and sister-in-law, Mary Corkrean. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca (Wade) Lacque, Elizabeth Dawson, Anne McHugh, Susan (Dan) King, Michael (Aly) Eveler, Erin (Tom) Butler, and Ryan, Michael and Tyler Corkrean; two step-grandsons, Scott and Brad Case; and many beloved great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in 2007; her sisters, Helen Morehouse and Celine Waring; her brothers, Richard and John McLaughlin; her brothers-in-law, Gene Corkrean, Phillip Corkrean, and Carl Neal; and her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Neal, Sue Corkrean, Shirley Corkrean, and Barb Corkrean.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place at St. Patrick Irish Settlement Cemetery in Cumming.
