Patricia "Pat" Lorine Bengtson

Patricia Lorine (Francke) Bengtson, affectionately known as Pat, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the age of 78.

Pat was born on August 25, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Philip and Gloria (Gibbs) Francke. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and later met her husband, Barry, while working at Allied Insurance.

Pat cherished spending time with family and her many close friends. She especially enjoyed playing cards, sharing dinners, and traveling together. She was also a devoted Iowa Hawkeyes fan who loved spending fall Saturdays in Iowa City cheering on her beloved Hawks.

Pat is survived by her husband, Barry; sons Ryan (Laura) Bengtson of Minburn and Brad Bengtson of Waukee; granddaughter Olivia; brothers Pete and Mike Francke; niece Nicole; and nephews Ben, Jacob, Andrew, and Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Gloria Francke, and sisters, Kathy and Lisa.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel, 1721 Park Street, Perry, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1312 3rd St, Perry, Iowa, with burial to follow at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Raccoon River Pet Rescue in Perry or to a charity of your choice in Pat’s memory.
