It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mia Maass (Alapati), born on April 1, 1974, on the island of Pago Pago, American Samoa. Mia spent her early years in Oahu, Hawaii, the eldest of 7 siblings. Mia was a nurturing free spirit known for her infectious laugh and kind welcoming attitude. Mia graduated from McKinley High School in Honolulu, Hi before bravely joining the U.S. Army as a telecommunications specialist. It was during her service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, that she met her beloved husband, Lance Maass.
