Nancy was born September 21st, 1948 and lived in Runnells, Iowa until the family moved to Des Moines. She was one of seven very stubborn, strong-willed children (6 sisters and 1 brother). She married Gregory Quick on April 19th, 1969, a marriage which blessed her with two sons that she adored.
Nancy had a very generous heart, and would give her last dollar to a homeless person, buy groceries for people at the store and to ensure her children had what they needed. She loved to cook, especially for family gatherings. She spent her entire career as a bookkeeper in the Des Moines area. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely.
Nancy is survived by her loving sons Jason Quick (wife Debbie), of Papillion, NE and Ryan Quick (wife Ashley) of Urbandale, IA, as well as six grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 sisters, Glema Hoomana (Des Moines, IA), Cindy Brown (Norwalk, IA), Tracy Jones (Davis City, IA), Gina Martin (Hopkinsville, KY), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert M. Brauer; mother, Glema Brauer; brother Robert M. Brauer Jr.; sister Donna Carol Ritsch; nephews Jonmichael Schutte, Garrett Tomlinson and Brent Peterson, and other beloved members of her extended family.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of St. Croix Hospice and Luther Park Trinity Center. They provided exceptional service, compassion and care to Nancy and the family as she met her illness head on.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Croix Hospice or Luther Park - Trinity Center.
A GoFundMe has been established and a basket will be available at both the Rosary vigil and funeral services for donations. All funds will be divided evenly between the two causes and donated in Nancy's name.
