Miriam Swanson, 95, of Adel, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Adel Acres Nursing Home Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 4, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Burial will be in the Paton Township Cemetery at Paton, Iowa. Family will greet friends Wednesday before the service from 9:30 to 11 AM at McCalley Funeral Home. Miriam was born on October 21, 1921, at Lake City, Iowa to Arthur & Millie (Rice) Pankey. She was married on 1939 at Lake City, Iowa, to Eugene Martin Swanson. Miriam is survived by her daughters, Donna (John) Simpson and Sharon (Robert) Spring; daughters-in-law, Mary Swanson and Kathy Swanson; and sister, Wanda Oleson; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Millie (Rice) Pankey; husband, Gene Swanson; son, Gary Swanson and Dean Swanson; infant sister, Lois Pankey; grandsons, Scott Swanson and Steve Ware; and great granddaughter, Ashley Baker.
