Matthew Neil Ransom

Matthew Neil Ransom, 55, of Adel, Iowa, passed away on June 13, 2026 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Matt was born on December 21, 1970, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Roy and Cindy Ransom. He attended Adel-DeSoto High School and continued his education at Wartburg College before pursuing trade school.

On September 24, 1994, Matt married Christine "Christi" Bolton Ransom. Together they built a life in Adel, centered on family, hard work, and creating cherished memories with family and friends.

Matt spent most of his career as a proud member of Local 45 Sheet Metal Union. He was known for his strong work ethic, skilled craftsmanship, and dedication to his trade.

In his free time, Matt enjoyed welding, building projects, fishing, hunting, and working on cars. More than anything, he treasured spending time with his family and friends.

Matt is survived by his beloved wife, Christi Ransom; his children, Cole (Miranda) Ransom, Luke (Jade) Ransom, and Katy Ransom; his cherished grandchildren, Mila, Rhyatt, and Remy; his father, Roy Ransom; his sister, Becky (Joe) Walters; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cindy Ransom.

A visitation will be on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Adel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Adel on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at Grace Lutheran Church (23932 Meadow Rd, Adel, IA 50003)
