Mary Margaret Snyder (Weaver) of Adel, Iowa passed away suddenly on August 30, 2025 in Salem, Missouri. Mary was born to Weldon Simon Weaver and Bertha Darlene (Benson) Weaver on February 24, 1958 in Eagle Grove, Iowa.
Mary graduated in 1976 and continued her education by earning an Associates Degree in Drapery and Tapestry at Iowa Central Community College. She began her career in alterations, moving and working in the Des Moines area and from her home which was still ongoing.
She met Carroll at a roller skating rink in Des Moines and the two of them were active regulars in that hobby all around the metro area. They were united in marriage at Ankeny Baptist Church on October 20, 1984. After marriage they made their home together in Adel, IA and had three children.
The two have always also been avid canoers, and led the church youth group down the Boone River multiple times and went as a family just about every year on the Current River in Missouri.
Mary is survived by her husband Carroll, her three children, Anthony, Allison, and Brandon, her sister, Patricia Weaver of Eagle Grove, her brothers, Victor (Bertha) Weaver and Darrel Weaver, both from Webster City, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Carol Crossman and Blanche Zeigler, brother-in-law, David Zeigler and niece Angela Zeigler.
A skilled seamstress, Mary was often referred to as a miracle worker from numerous brides and prom-goers. Infinitely creative, Mary also created original clothing designs, including her wedding dress and full bridal party, and household crafts that filled many needs that she sold at numerous locations and fundraisers. She also enjoyed making fresh pie fillings, jams, etc. from the peach trees at her home.
Mary was an active and passionate member of Panther Creek Church of the Brethren. She was active in the church library, Women's Fellowship, organizing meals, craft/bake sales, Prayer Blanket ministry, sending birthday and anniversary cards and numerous other volunteer experiences.
Mary loved both people and animals, especially babies, horses and cats. She had a plethora of close friends and adopted grandchildren in lieu of her own. If there was a baby in the room, Mary was close by and she went out of her way to comfort all. She rode in rodeos and barrel racing with her horse, Queenie, in her youth and spent the majority of her life surrounded by numerous farm cats and the occasional dog.
The memorial service is scheduled for September 12, 2025 and will begin at 11 a.m. at Panther Creek Church of the Brethren, 24529 J Ave, Adel, Iowa followed by lunch and a time to greet and visit with the family at the church. Burial will follow at a later date with the family.
