Mark Paar, 69, of Des Moines, IA passed away at Mercy Medical Center January 11, 2017 after a short battle with Mesothelioma. He was born December 28, 1947 in Waterloo, IA the son of Paul and Opal Paar. Mark spent several years serving in the United States Navy following graduation from Cedar Falls High School. He had a long career at Townsend Engineering from where he retired. Mark is survived by his sister, Mary White; brothers in-law, James Lee and Eldon Jenison; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial will take place at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
