Mark Madesen

Mark Edward Madesen, 74 of Stuart, Iowa passed away on August 21,2025 after a difficult battle with cancer. Mark, known by most all that knew him as either Butch or Bananas, was born on November 2, 1950 to Max Earl and Mary Laverne née Glasscock Madesen.

Butch grew up in Stuart, IA and only left to serve in the Army. During that time, Butch served in the Vietnam war.

While a bachelor who never married or had children, he played a huge part as uncle to his sisters' kids. All of which bugged him to the end. 

Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting for sport. He frequently enjoyed coffee and shooting the breeze with his family and friends. A simple man with a simple life that leaves a lot of cherished memories for his loved ones. 

Those loved ones include but aren't limited to his niece and nephews: Tamra (Greg) Sheeder of Orient, IA, Charles "Chuck" (Christina Schalk) Beaman of Adel, Wayne Beaman of Stuart, Christopher (Melody) Beaman of Austin, Texas and Matthew Beaman of Lorimer. Great nieces and nephews: Robert Stubb's, Brian Stubbs, Heather Claussen, Mark Beaman, Nicole Beaman, Rebecca Beaman, Kyle Yates, née Daniel, Douglas Collins, Justin Collins, Chelsea Collins, and Lauren Beaman. Great nieces and nephews Star Dixon, Jace Dixon, Jaxons Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Noah Micah Stubbs and Roy Glen Yates.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents Max and Mary and his two sisters Mary Frances Beaman and Maxine Wierrick.

Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home will be coordinating services, which will be held at Veterans cemetery in Van Meter on September 26th at 09:30 am with full military honors. Luncheon will be held at the American Legion post 146 (323 SW 2nd St, Stuart, IA 50250) / skating rink in Stuart at 11:30 a.m.
