Marilyn Fae (Shepherd) Sour, 80, of Winterset, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 4 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with burial in the Winterset Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to AHeinz57 Pet Rescue, Box 188 De Soto, Iowa 50069. Acknowledgements of sympathy may be left on-line at www.ochiltree.com. Marilyn Fae Shepherd was born October 9, 1932 in Pleasantville, Iowa to Wilton and Lenore (Snook) Shepherd. She was a devoted mother raising her three children, Nan, Kelly and John. She also worked as a school secretary for the Patterson and Scott Township Schools. Later she worked as a Clerk in the Madison County Treasurer’s Office for about twenty years retiring in 1997. Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church and her greatest joys were her grandchildren. She also loved dogs and NASCAR. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Freeman of Winterset; son, John Sour and wife, Angie of Winterset; and two grandchildren, Katie Evans and husband, Jeffrey of Marshalltown and Sam Sour of Winterset. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Nan Easterly; a son-in-law, Everett Freeman and her brother, Marvin Shepherd.
