Marianne Bowman

Marianne Lee Bowman passed away on September 1st, 2025, at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 80. She was a proud Italian-American, born on April 24, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. Marianne was adopted as an infant by George and Mary Bailey. Later in life, through a genealogy platform, she was able to reconnect with her biological family and discover the joy of finding her surviving siblings.

She worked in the medical field for 30 years. Marianne was raised Catholic and had a firm belief in God, which helped carry her through life’s turmoils. Her character was one of strength and determination, never giving up even during difficult times. She had a strong will and mind throughout her life.

Her favorite hobbies included crocheting blankets, shawls, and scarves for the elderly in retirement homes, as well as for her family. She also loved a good road trip where she felt free.

Survivors include her daughters, Lynn and Lori; her brother and sister, Bruce and Barbara; two grandchildren, Ryan and Tessa; and two great-grandchildren, Ayla and Alex.
