Maria Gertrude (Koelle) Tiernan

Maria Gertrude Koelle was born November 20, 1913 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Costa) Koelle. Her marriage to James Tiernan took place on July 25, 1942. Maria supported Jim throughout his career in the Army as they moved several times to such places as Japan, Germany and Holland. She is survived by her husband, James Tiernan of San Diego, CA; a nephew Robert J. Koelle of Davenport; a niece, Carol Koelle of Davenport; and a sister-in-law Margaret (Mrs. John) Tiernan of Winterset. Visitation: 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Friday with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. March 31, 2006 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 1, 2006 at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Church Memorial: Memorials may be directed in her name to a favorite charity of your choice.
