Lynne Elise Boldt passed away peacefully the morning of August 1st, 2026. She was 82 years old.

A celebration of life gathering and luncheon will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church (Walnut Street location) in Ankeny, Iowa on August 14th at 11 am. This will be an informal gathering of friends and family to share fond memories and to say goodbye to this wonderful lady.

Lynne was born April 12th, 1944 in Mason City Iowa to Henry and Genevieve Pendergraft. She attended Mason City High School where she made several life-long friends, and then went on to study music at the University of Iowa. She left the university after sophomore year in order to start a family, but then eventually completed here bachelor’s degree at Drake University as an adult student. This was one of her proudest accomplishments!

Lynne worked many years as a medical technician, for both the VA Hospital in Des Moines, as well as Lutheran Hospital. She enjoyed keeping busy with work- so much so, that people were wondering if she was ever going to retire!

As an accomplished singer, music was always a passion of hers. Lynne enjoyed participating in the Drake Community Chorus as well as her church choir. She also enjoyed playing handbells at the church for many years.

Lynne was also a crossword puzzle enthusiast, a lover of trivia (including the show Jeopardy!) and avid contract bridge player. She dearly loved her bridge group and often spoke about her love of playing cards with the gals.

She was also a pretty darn good baker, and many people will remember her for her plates of Christmas cookies. Often there would be 20 or more different Christmas cookie varieties to choose from during holiday gatherings!

Lynne is survived by her son Christopher who is thankful every day she fostered his musical ability, championed his creative side, taught him kindness and empathy, and showed him the value of hard work.

I love you mom and I miss you to pieces!
