Lorraine Diann Gulsvig

January 16, 1954 — October 28, 2024

Lorraine Gulsvig, age 70, passed away on October 28, 2024, in Ankeny, Iowa.

Lori was born on January 16, 1954 to Ronald and Elsie (Gehrtz) Reinhart in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Lori was a devoted wife to Wayne Gulsvig, whom she married on April 10, 1976.

Lori was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and nurturing their creative spirits, especially through her passion for art in the classroom. While raising her children, she dedicated herself to traveling to soccer tournaments, practices, and games, always cheering them on.

An entrepreneur for over 20 years, Lori thrived in her work and found fulfillment in her career. She was also a proud grandmother to two granddaughters, whom she adored and loved to spoil, often teaching them new jokes during their visits.

Known for her creativity, Lori delighted in making homemade Halloween costumes for her children and experimenting with her ever-evolving lasagna recipe in search of the perfect dish. Her love extended beyond family to the many dogs she cherished throughout her life, often creating forever homes for animals through her involvement with the Nebraska Humane Society.

Lori found her happiest moments surrounded by family, sharing laughter and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lori is survived by her husband, Wayne of Ankeny; children, Rissa (Chris) Ream of Johnston, Reid (Liz) Gulsvig of Syracuse, NY, and Rogan (Christine) Gulsvig of Omaha, NE; 2 grandchildren, Mya Ream and Remi Gulsvig; sister, Lisa (Craig) Sprenger; sister-in-law, Darlene (Jim) Jerde; and brothers-in-law, Neil (Jan) Gulsvig and Mike Skiple. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronand and Elsie Reinhart.
