Lois Lavonne (Mansfield) Heisler, daughter of Charles Clyde Mansfield and Helen (Miller) Mansfield, was born on March 1, 1931, at her parents’ farm near Herndon, Iowa, and died January 8, 2026, at Perry Lutheran Home King’s Garden in Perry, Iowa at the age of 94.

Lois grew up in Herndon, where she received her early education. She later worked at Priebes, where she met her husband, Cliff Heisler. The couple was united in marriage on March 4, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa, and were blessed with one son, Robert.

Lois devoted herself to maintaining their home while caring for their son. As Cliff began his railroad career with the Milwaukee and Soo Lines, the family lived in Kansas City and Ottumwa before settling in Herndon and later Perry, where they resided on 5th Street from 1955 to 1958. When Cliff worked for the DMCI Railroad from 1958 to 1964, the daily commute from Perry led them to make their home in Des Moines during those years. In 1964, they returned to Perry, where they would remain.

No matter where life took them, Lois and Cliff found happiness in each place they lived. They resided at the same address on Warford for many years before moving to Spring Valley Retirement Community in October of 2008. At Spring Valley, Lois made many dear friends and especially enjoyed the various activities and outings, particularly trips to the local casinos.

Lois spent countless hours working on jigsaw puzzles and crocheting Afghan blankets, many of which continue to be cherished by family and friends. In October of 2025, Lois moved to the King’s Gardens Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes, where she received loving care until her passing.

Lois and Cliff enjoyed many trips to Branson and Tennessee, where they visited Elvis Presley’s home. They also enjoyed numerous bus trips and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a special tour to Kansas City, followed by a scenic train dinner trip through Colorado.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cliff Heisler; her son, Robert Heisler; infant brothers George and Albert Mansfield; brothers Quentin, Floyd, Royal, Lyle, Dwight, and Lincoln Mansfield; and sisters Dora Margaret, Darlene Mansfield, Uneta Dowd, and Zada Springer.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Tammy Elliott of Perry and Bobbie Seifert of Des Moines; her great-grandchildren, T.J. Warren and Amanda Seifert; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many cherished friends.
