Lois Ann Brookhart, a strong woman of faith and an entrepreneur, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side Thursday, January 1st, 2026, ending a 3-year battle with cancer.
Well known in the Des Moines Catholic church community and a spiritual influence to many, Lois is survived by her children: Adriana Welton, T. Gordon Welton, Jerry Welton, Katya Nicholson and Yurii Brookhart; step children, Lynn Brookhart, Linda Murphy, Kurt, Chris, Craig and Skeet Brookhart; her brother Terrance G Welton, and her sister Marietta Jackson. Lois had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband James H Brookhart, mother Berniece M Raye-Welton, brother David Welton and stepson, Jimmy Brookhart.
Here’s to celebrating you, Home. We love you, we’ll miss you, and we’ll carry forever our memories of you in our hearts.
