Linda Lee Payton was born July 9, 1955 in Perry, Iowa the daughter of Lester L and Twyla B. (Wills) Payton. She attended Perry Community Schools and graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1973. Linda married Randy L. Dawson on February 15, 1986 in Perry, Iowa. Linda was a dedicated mother of two sons and a dedicated worker at the Woodward State Hospital School for thirty-nine years before her retirement in August of 2016.

Survivors include her husband Randy Dawson of Perry, IA; two sons Tyler Dawson of Perry, IA and Chalynn Dawson of Perry, IA.

Preceding Linda in death were her parents, one sister Judy McLuen and nephew Dave McLuen. Memorials will be directed, in Linda’s name, to the John Stoddard Cancer Center. They may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home. On line condolences may be sent to murdockfuneralhome.net
