Linda Cahail

Linda Cahail 74 of Adel, IA passed away on, June 20, 2026 at Mercy Hospital Surrounded by family and friends.

Linda Darlene Harger Cahail was the third of four children. She was born on July 18, 1951, in San Bernardino, California, to Burton and Barbara Harger.

Linda graduated from Fontana High School in 1968. She was united in marriage to Lester Cahail Sr. in 1969. Together they had four children: Lester "Darci" Cahail Jr. of Waukee, Iowa; Melissa Coulter of Madison, Wisconsin; Lynette "Travis" Meester of Dexter, Iowa; and Terry Cahail of Adel, Iowa.

Linda loved gardening and mushroom hunting. She enjoyed going for walks and making her home remedies. She also enjoyed baking and being around family and friends. She loved being outdoors and enjoying nature. Linda was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved the Lord. She retired after many years of working for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed her work.

She is survived by her four children: Lester, Melissa, Lynette, and Terry; her sister, Eloise Harger of Prescott, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Barbara Harger; her two sisters, Judy and Lois; and her brother, Ricky.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
