With deep sorrow and humble submission to the will of Almighty God, we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Laura Boeyinoh Zoe Williams.
Laura was born on June 23, 1963, in Margibi County, Liberia, to the late Lawrence Doe Williams Sr. and late Luci Mawen Jallah. She was raised in Liberia, where she developed the strength, resilience, and compassion that would define her life.
Laura attended Robertsfield Community School in Lower Margibi County before graduating from Harbel Multilateral High School in 1985. After graduation, she worked at the Credit Union at Roberts International Airport until the outbreak of the Liberian Civil War.
In 2000, Laura relocated to the United States, settling in Trenton, New Jersey, where she worked diligently to provide for her family. Throughout the years, she held positions at Live-Out, Kmart Warehouse, SERV Behavioral Health, Princeton Nursing Home, and New Lisbon Developmental Center. Laura was a hardworking woman who took pride in providing for those she loved and never shied away from honest work.
Laura raised her children in New Jersey and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren. Later, she relocated to Iowa to be with her son, Nuke Williams. Following his passing, she moved to Minnesota to live with her oldest son, Lawrence Williams. While visiting family in Urbandale, Iowa, Laura peacefully passed away in her sleep on May 25, 2026, at the age of 62.
Laura was a devoted Christian whose faith remained her foundation throughout life's joys and challenges. She was known for her kindness, humorous personality, generous heart, delicious cooking, and unwavering love for her family. She welcomed everyone with warmth and made people feel at home wherever she was. Her strength, grace, and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Laura leaves to cherish her memory her stepmother, Martha Cooper; her children, Patience Rouhalce, Lawrence Williams (Taryonna), Kumba Kaifar, James Williams, and Laujim Banks-Lewis (Tajae); 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 9 sisters; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends in Liberia and the United States.
Laura's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, hard work, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to live on through her family and everyone blessed to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her love, wisdom, and beautiful spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”— Matthew 25:23
