Laura A Lange

Laura Lange, 103, of Adel, Iowa, passed away on March 26, 2025 at Azria Healthcare in Winterset, Iowa.

Laura Augusta Wilhelmina (Ziesman) Lange was born on February 19, 1922, the daughter of Arnold and Clara (Jass) Ziesman on the family farm southwest of Eldora, Iowa. Laura attended Goose Creek School #4 until the 8th grade where at that time she needed to help on the farm and take care of her grandparents and siblings. Growing up and taking care of her grandparents instilled a sense of caregiving and caretaking. This was evident with the way in which she was able to raise her five children, be a homemaker, and tend to the farm all at the same time. Having this time as a caretaker assisted and manifested a deep love for the lord. Watching, aiding, feeding, and growing life opened her eyes up to Christ. Laura has been described as a strong willed, independent, faithful learner and believer in the lord. This has been shown throughout her time on the earth.

Laura was united in marriage to Herman Lange in Eldora on November 17, 1943, and later divorced. They were blessed with five children: Gloria, Virginia, Loretta, Teressa and Kevin.

Laura was an avid participant in preparation of the Fellowship dinners in Eldora, enjoyed gardening and spending quality time with her family and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gloria Doud, Jinny (Steve) Landt, Loretta Wunschel, Terri Lange and Kevin Lange; grandchildren: Shela (Blair), Cara (Aaron), Erin (Baley), Adrienne (Derek), Brian, Nicole (Craig), Tera (Matt), Brittany (Brad), Lauren (Marshall), Lindsey; great-grandchildren:Justin, Kelanie (Jason), Brynnan, Quincey (Josh), Kyson, Jensyn, Emory, Tripp, Ava, Eastyn, Camdyn, Rylan, Nyla; great-great-grandchild: Griffin. Brother and sister-in-law Melvin (Joyce) Nehring, sister-in-law Ione Ziesman as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandchild: Baby J, brothers and sisters- in-law Albert and Irene Ziesman, Edward Ziesman, Walter and Marlene Ziesman and her sister and brother-in-law Reba and Wendell Wehrman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, 4/3/2025 at 9:30am at St. Paul Lutheran Church (1105 Washington Street) in Eldora Iowa. Funeral Service will follow at 10:30. Burial will take place at the Eldora Cemetery (401 Edgington Ave). A luncheon will follow the burial at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
