Larry Krauss

Larry Krauss, age 80, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset, Iowa. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 16, at the First Christian Church in Winterset. Larry had been a longtime teacher for the Winterset Community Schools, having taught Biology. He also coached softball, basketball, and football throughout his career. Larry is survived by his wife, Margaret Krauss of Winterset; daughter, Julie (Brad) Jones of Winterset; son, Craig (Caren) Krauss of Kansas City, MO; sister, Marvis Van Maanen of Lakewood, CA; and grandchildren, Kennedy Jones and Samantha Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary (Smock) Krauss; and brother, Deryl Krauss. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 15, from 4 to 6 PM at the First Christian Church. Memorials given to the family will be directed to Winterset Girls Softball. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
