Larry “Dale” Faux, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on February 13, 2026.
Dale was born on November 20, 1940 to parents, Hazel Elizabeth Cole and Elton (Tommy) Faux. He attended Patterson School and graduated from Winterset High School in 1959.
On June 4, 1961, he was married to Sheryl Dean from the Macksburg area. They were blessed with four children.
Dale was a lifetime farmer in the Patterson neighborhood where he loved the land and baby livestock. He built one of the first hog confinement buildings in the area. Dale was a true example of “The American Farmer.”
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Anna Faux; brothers, Willis, Stanley and Tom; son, Larry David; and baby daughter, Lisa Deanne.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sheryl; daughters, Sherry Ruth and Marsha (Ty) Mapes; brother, Jack Faux; sister, Kathy Watson; sister-in-law, Janean Faux; grandchildren, Christopher Ruth, Stacey (Todd) Morrison, Joey and Jarod Faux, Taylor (Jake) Weaver, and Rylee Mapes; seven great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
