Kevin Waltz

Kevin Paul Waltz, age 66, of Winterset, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Kevin was born on July 6, 1959, in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Joseph Henry Waltz Jr. and Dawn Ardell (Wombold) Waltz. He went to Winterset High School and later enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country.

After his military service, Kevin spent many years working as a truck driver for various agencies, most notably for Rhodes Transportation. He was a hardworking man with a generous heart, known for his willingness to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Kevin had many passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He loved making walking sticks, fishing, dancing, and spending time out in nature-especially in the timber. He held a deep love for dogs and enjoyed playing several musical instruments through the years. He also had a strong appreciation for the American flag, Eagles, and the simple beauty of the outdoors. Christmas held a very special place in his heart, and he cherished the season each year. His sense of humor, big heart, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jerimy (Billie) Waltz, Tiyanna Waltz, Victoria Brammer, and Charlee Craig; his grandchildren: Autumn, Shayden, Miya, Hayden, Tim, Kaylee, Tyson, Wyatt, Leo, and Nila; his brothers: Mike (Shelia) Waltz, David (Debbie) Waltz, and Bill (Charlye Henderson) Hull; his sisters: Bingta (Kelly) McCall and Dawn Cae Farrow; and a special friend, Barb Buzzard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Lucia Sytsma; his brother, Coy Waltz; and his nephew, Thadius Paul Waltz.

Cremation has taken place, Celebration of Life will be December 14th at 2 p.m. at the Community Building (Madison County Fairgrounds)1146 West Summit Street in Winterset Iowa.
